Safety in Care

Safety is one of our highest priorities at Geisler Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. From your individualized preoperative assessment, a surgical plan with appropriate anesthesia will be developed tailored to your preferences. We will work with your physician to check on medication interactions and also to insure the safest anesthesia for you based on your health prior to your surgery. We employ state-of-the-art technology in our facility to maximize the safety of patients including a “time out” protocol at the time of surgery. Geisler Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery participate in office inspections of our facility by AAOMS and the OSOMS in order to maintain the highest standards of safety related to anesthesia for outpatient procedures.

Patient Safety During Covid-19

We have taken extra precautions to keep our staff & patients safe during this time. Here are the changes we’ve implemented:

  • Rooms are disinfected prior to & after each patient
  • Patient Screening prior to & during appointments
  • Hand cleaning station at the door
  • All staff wear N95s, goggles, face shields, gowns, & gloves
  • MERV 13 filter in our HVAC system
  • HEPA filters in the waiting area & each treatment area
  • Extraoral aerosol suction machines with HEPA filters that are used for each surgery

Patients are asked to wait in their cars before their appointment and teledentistry appointments are an option for patients who prefer that. We are following all CDC recommendations and we have had special infection control educational sessions to learn how to keep everyone safe.

Safety in Care

Not all oral and maxillofacial surgeons in Oregon meet credentialing standards to be on staff at a hospital. Dr. Geisler is a board certified senior oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center with admitting privileges. She currently serves the Oregon Providence Health Care System by providing expertise in the surgical management of maxillofacial injuries and emergency room consultations for patients throughout the state of Oregon. She routinely operates both high-risk adults and children in the operating room at Providence St. Vincent. This important resource allows her to deliver the best surgical care for those patients who require an anesthesiologist for oral and maxillofacial surgery.
