Meet Dr. Geisler

Welcome to the practice of Dr. Stacy Geisler, the first female to be a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in our state of Oregon.

Raised in northern California, Dr. Stacy Geisler attended the University of California at Davis before receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland OH in 1992 and her Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001. Her graduate training includes the completion of an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program through the University of Texas at Houston in 1996 and a Fellowship in the National Institute of Health through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001.

Dr. Geisler has earned awards and honors over the past 25 years that could fill a book, but the heart of her practice and the backbone of all she does is grounded in her passion for mission work and providing for those living in poverty.

Helping Those Across the Globe

Dr. Geisler has traveled with World Vision, and her church where she is ordained as a deacon, to Senegal as the sole dentist on the team. She tirelessly extracted teeth for those living without electricity or plumbing. While there, she trained a local dentist to carry on her the work she’d started, teaching him techniques in oral surgery. Dr. Geisler continues to support the community in West Africa by sending supplies and visiting when she can. She participates in World Vision’s annual Walk for Water with her staff, raising funds for clean drinking water for over 49,000 Africans.

Dr. Geisler has also traveled to Burkina Faso with Medical Teams International where there were only 3 dentists in a country of 11 million people at that time. Her team tended to the oral care of over 400 people while they were there.

Reaching Children Close to Home

Closer to home, Dr. Geisler and her staff provide free dental care for local kids each year at Give Kids a Smile in Northeast Portland and participate regularly in Portland-based Mission of Mercy.

Dr. Geisler’s and her OMS team partners with Pink Eraser Project, Hunger Fighters, Love Inc, and Lake Oswego Arts Council Gallery Without Walls to reach children living at poverty level to have what they to excel in school, including adequate health care and school supplies.
